Salaried GP : 4 or 5 Sessions
Start date : from October 2022

We are looking for a 4-5 session salaried GP to join the team at Winchcombe Medical Centre. We would love an enthusiastic team-player committed to delivering excellent patient care. You could be at any stage of your career - we are proud of our previous support of newly qualified or later career GPs. Work life balance is important to us, we have 15 minute appointments, study plus annual leave allocation is a generous 9 weeks pro rata and salary is competitive with terms modelled on the BMA contract.

The positive way we have dealt with coronavirus has shown us the value of having a supportive, democratic and inclusive team. We are committed to sustainability and are working towards our Green Impact for Health Bronze award and even have a gardening club!

We pride ourselves in being a friendly and vibrant training practice and encourage all staff to get involved if they would like. We have four partners, two salaried GPs and a retainer. Two of our recent salaried GPs joined us at the start of their career and are now partners at the practice. We have an experienced nursing team and host regular frailty and palliative care MDTs. We are based in a recently refurbished purpose built surgery in a beautiful part of semi-rural Gloucestershire.

We are outward looking and adaptable, play a full role in our local Primary Care Network and are a research practice.  Our last CQC inspection rated us as 'Outstanding', we have excellent feedback from the GP Survey and Friends and Family and our latest staff survey found 100% of staff were 'proud to work at the practic".

Salaried GP - Leckhampton Surgery

The Leckhampton Surgery

Salaried/Retainer/Flexible GP opportunity

  1. Sessions

c10k/session depending on role and experience

  • Are you looking for a flexible and enjoyable role that allows you to combine work with other commitments?

  • Would you like to be part of a forward-thinking practice team who make it a priority to support their colleagues?

  • Would you enjoy collaborative working with colleagues in a fun and supportive learning environment?

We are recruiting due to the retirement of our senior partner and a desire to expand our team.

Leckhampton Surgery is highly regarded locally and we have a culture of learning, high standards and mutual support, valuing the opinions of all members of our practice team. We also recognise that times are hard in primary care and work very hard to take care of all our staff and as a result have a very low turnover and a lovely atmosphere in the building. We are a well-established training practice of 13,500 patients and we receive consistently excellent feedback from GP trainees, many of whom work with us after completing their training. We have a supportive collaborative open plan working area as well as traditional consulting rooms so there is the option to work closely together for part of the day if desired. This strengthens our team as we learn from others, share concerns, results and cases in real time and make many cups of coffee!

This position can be a traditional salaried role, or truly flexible. We welcome expressions of interest from newly qualified (or about to be) and experienced GPs. This could be a stand alone post, part of a portfolio career or to complement one of the many fellowship opportunities that are available in Gloucestershire (3 of our current partners have recently undertaken fellowships). Our doctors consult with 25 patients a day (in line with BMA guidance) comprising a mix of F2F and telephone appointments, all pretriaged by a clinician. We are aware that the traditional general practice model is not suitable for everyone and can offer a post designed around your needs, for example, shorter sessions, term time working, retainer positions, some remote working and optional on call commitments. Why not get in touch and explore options with us?

To see why we think Leckhampton Surgery is a great place to work do have a chat with our existing GPs or come along to our open day!

We welcome informal visits and enquiries over the summer and will also be holding an informal Open Day on Wednesday 7th September 4-8pm where you can pop in, meet the team and chat through options with us.

Applications are encouraged before Friday 16th September 2022. Interviews will take place in September.

Please contact Paula Cross, Practice Manager on 01242 539080 or email: or Dr Iona Hay email: for further information or to apply in writing, including your CV. ?

Advanced Practitioner - Newbury Street Practice

Advanced Practitioner (Specialist Paramedic/Emergency Care Practitioner/Physician's Associate/Advanced Nurse Practitioner)

Closing Date: 23/08/2022

Salary: competitive salary DOE

Newbury Street Practice is a dynamic and friendly training practice in South Oxfordshire looking after approximately 15,750 patients. Our clinical team is expanding, and we are looking to recruit an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ANP, Paramedic, Physician's Associate or Emergency Care Practitioner) to work with us to continue to deliver excellent primary care to our patients.

The successful candidate will work autonomously to provide acute clinical care to patients via telephone triage, face to face appointments and online consultations. They will be well supported by the GP team both on a day-to-day basis (we have an open door policy & a daily coffee break) and by having a GP lead to mentor and imbed them into the team with regular Clinical Supervision meetings. The practice offers patients a same day telephone triage system following a usual doctor list, which allows both flexibility in terms of offering patients the most appropriate care, but also maintaining continuity of care.

Candidates with a portfolio of experience would be especially welcome, such as home/care-home visiting, long term condition reviews. We are keen to support candidates learning and development to fit with our population needs, so this is not essential.

We are committed to ongoing training and development of all our staff and have regular clinical meetings to which all are invited including journal club, significant events, and quality improvement amongst others. Our Clinical Team are well supported by a strong Patient Co-ordinator, Administrative, Secretarial and Management team as well as having excellent IT systems in place optimising the benefits of Accuryx text, Anima online consultations, EMIS system, Docman 10. We also offer a generous study leave allowance and encourage staff to use this time to address their own personal training needs that have been discussed in their annual "in house" appraisals.

We are also part of a well- established Primary Care Network working with our neighbouring practice and have several allied health professionals supporting our team and our patients including First Contact Physiotherapist, Clinical Pharmacy Team, Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators and Paramedic colleagues.

The service operates from Monday to Friday 08:30-20.00 and we are looking to appoint the right applicant for 37.5 hrs per week to include one evening and one Saturday morning per month, but part-time working will be considered.
