Chairman - Dr Andrew Seymour
A GP in Gloucester since 1993 having qualified in 1987 from St Bartholomew’s
Hospital, London and then doing training jobs in Norfolk - as he puts it 'as attractive as the
Broads are, no-one ever visits you that far away!'.
Andrew also worked as a police surgeon, which evolved into a lead forensic medical examiner
role for the county until 2005.
He joined the LMC in 1997 and worked his way through most roles, including
quite an active role as a child protection representative. He has been chairman
since 2005 and seen a number of changes within officers and the office structure
of the LMC in
recent years. He now hopes for a period of stability internally so as to cope
with the inevitable instability that GPs are likely to face from the direction
of the government.
